Disciplines we teach:

Judo (柔道) is a modern martial art, combat and Olympic sport. It was created in Tokyo, Japan by Jigoro Kano in 1882. The objectives of the sport are to either throw their opponent to the ground on their back (nage waza), pin them to the ground for a set time count (osaekomi waza) or make them submit with a choke (shime waza) or joint lock (Kansetsu waza). Judo first became an Olympic sport at the Tokyo 1964 games (for Men) and at the Barcelona 1992 games (for Women). An estimated 40 million people practise the sport worldwide.

Fundo is an activator sport designed to develop co-ordination, strength, agility, balance, posture, fitness and teamwork in a Judo type environment. Fundo uses a games based approach to develop key skills that are used in all sports and particularly Judo. Maintenance of a 'fun' environment is key to Fundo as studies have found this is the most important factor to encourage children to continue to participate in Sport and exercise.
